The Hedge Fund Due Diligence Exchange offers the highest quality due diligence reports at the most competitive price. HFDDX enables members to jointly and anonymously fund reports with other members. We provide comprehensive reports including investment and operational due diligence, analysis and opinions, for $1500 USD.

Who Performs the Work

Senior staff interrogates the key individuals; experienced attorneys oversee the official documentation review; experienced investigators perform background checks; and seasoned senior staff oversee verifications. In short, a team of highly experienced managing principals presides over the entire due diligence process.

Decades of Experience

HFDDX has a highly experienced senior team, with operational, buy & sell side, quantitative, qualitative, and legal experience in hedge funds, fund of funds, commodity pools, and traditional assets. Overall, the principals have completed comprehensive due diligence reports on over 1,000 alternative investment funds of all kinds. The team has decades of financial markets experience in due diligence, alternative asset management, funds of funds, government regulation, volatility, derivatives, investment banking, and many other key financial disciplines. In addition, our collective backgrounds include hands-on experience in starting and managing hedge funds and conducting due diligence on established and emerging hedge funds, making the team uniquely qualified to examine every type of fund.



Meet Our Managing Principal

Ralph DiMeo oversees the entire due diligence process and focuses on verifications. He is also the founder and owner of the Hedge Fund Due Diligence Group, and has completed over 800 Hedge Fund Due Diligence Reports. Ralph began working at Institutional Investor in 1977, where he was a Contributing Editor at the Wall Street Letter. In 1978 and 1979, Ralph sold original financial research on securities trading patterns to major Wall Street firms. He spent many years as a technical consultant to major corporations including AT&T, Bell Labs, Bell Communications Research, IBM, and Citicorp. After 11 years with Morgan Stanley, mostly handling technology in the Institutional Equities Division, Ralph began independent Hedge Fund Due Diligence work in 2003.

Robert Krause primarily conducts the on-site visit with the investment manager. He is founder of The VolX Group Corporation, a marketing and product development company in novel financial derivative instruments and indices. He was the Founder, Managing Partner, and Chief Risk Officer of Event Capital Markets. This firm serviced the alternative-asset industry with over 500 detailed, comprehensive, and independent due diligence reviews of trading managers. Robert was Senior Vice President at Zurich Capital Markets. Within the Risk Management Division, he headed the group performing hedge fund due diligence for a portfolio of over 700 hedge funds with exposure close to $14 billion. He was also a senior member on the investment committee for Javelin (an actively managed fund of funds with assets over $1 billion). At Mitsui Commodities, he was Executive Vice President, Alternative Investments, where he oversaw the managed futures, hedge fund, and private equity product lines. Robert also was Vice President, Institutional Equity Derivatives at Morgan Stanley. There, he led the institutional training and education effort, and was the Editor-in-Chief of the quantitative research monthly report. Mr. Krause was a registered Commodity Trading Advisor, one of the first to trade a volatility portfolio in the managed-futures industry. He was also with the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) as the Manager, Option Products Marketing, and Director, GLOBEX Marketing.

Mr. Krause wrote The Volatility Handbook and CME Futures and Options Strategy Guide. He patented exchange-tradable instruments that settle to the realized volatility of an underlying asset or instrument and has several patents pending in daily options, correlation instruments, and novel share-like derivatives. Mr. Krause graduated with a B.S. degree in Economics with an emphasis in math, macroeconomics, and derivative markets from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Wendy Robinson focuses on the legal review of offering documents. Wendy has worked for over 30 years in the financial services industry, serving as General Counsel for The Volatility Exchange, as well as the hedge fund due diligence company, Event Capital Markets, LLC. She was Senior Counsel in PaineWebber's Legal Department, specializing in futures, swaps, and other derivatives transactions, stock lending, and corporate governance. Ms. Robinson was a partner engaged in general practice with the law firm of Pfeffer, Storm & Robinson in San Francisco, California. She also worked in the Legal Departments of Smith Barney, Merrill Lynch Futures, and E.F. Hutton, as well as in the Options Department of E.F. Hutton. On the regulatory side, Ms. Robinson served as arbitration counsel with the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) and as staff counsel with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). Beginning in 1990, she served as a member of the National Futures Association (NFA) Business Conduct Committee, and more recently, NFA's Hearing Committee, chairing numerous hearing panels.

Ms. Robinson graduated summa cum laude from the University of Bridgeport and received her J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law—Newark. She is admitted to the bar in New York, New Jersey, and California.
